Sam is ONE

Wow - I can't believe how fast this past year went. It seems like just yesterday I was waking Andy up in the middle of the night telling him we needed to go to the hospital.

This year has been full of anxiety/stress/frightening moments (after he went into the NICU), stress (after bouts of colic), but mostly PURE JOY, LOVE, and EXCITEMENT.  We have loved watching him grow, from learning how to smile, to using his hands, to giving kisses, to growing some teeth (SIX!), to crawling (first army style, then on all fours), to eating solid foods (somewhat timidly, but when he loves it, he goes after it pretty darn quick (like pancakes!), to learning your first words, to interacting with so many people, and loving his family oh so much.  It is SO fun to see his easy going, happy spirit react to so many things in the day. The mischievousness/twinkle in his eye when he starts doing something "dangerous" or something he isn't supposed to (like play with the toilet, dog bowl, bite his mom, etc.) lets us know we are in for a real treat later :).

We love our little man, Sam, and can't wait for the next few milestones to come (except we can, so if he can forever be a baby, that would be great :).

Here are some pics in reflection:

WE LOVE YOU SAM!

  1. Ah! How is Sam already a year old?!? Slow down, Sam! ;-) He is seriously one of the cutest kids EVER - that hair, those sparkling eyes, that huge smile, those DIMPLES? Amazing. Happy birthday, Sam!
